Cooking the Chicken: In a large pot, place the chicken and cover it with water (about 8 cups).
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for about 30-40 minutes, skimming off any foam that rises to the surface.

Adding Vegetables: Once the chicken is cooked, add chopped vegetables (carrots, celery, and onions) to the pot.
